Rankings Release 3
I think your correct on Setzer and Almonte. Clerical issue. Will correct.
On Lesperance, I really like Jadens wrestling. Its easy to say "hes too low" though. Make a case for him to move over one of the wrestlers below him. I could see a case for moving him above Brochu. Brochu was very impressive at Lowell, but who knows if he can handle Jaden's experience...so for the sake of argument, ill give you that one. Millette has a very strong State and New Englands resume and was a Lowell Finalist this year. Same goes for Kappler who only lost to Millette in the semis at Lowell before taking 3rd. Rai sits over Lesperance currently due to a head to head win against him at the Milford-Souhegan tourney, granted it was due to injury time.
If your saying you think he will eventually come out on top, I can respect that and it wouldn't surprise me in the least...he's more than capable. Im just not sure there is a good argument to be made from a rankings/results standpoint yet. Still 5-6 weeks to go though!!!
I'd put Hayden Brown at #1 for 126. Granted it was last year but I watched him completely control Donovan. He was also 5th at prep nationals. Kid is legit. As for #2 and #3 I would go St. Jean then Donovan. My argument on that is somewhat slim and easy debatable though. With that said St. Jean is a returning All State champ at 120 with Donovan being runner up at 113. From what I understand St. Jean didn't make weight for day two of Lowell and him and Donovan were set to meet in the qtrs. Not sure how that would be interpreted as far as seeding goes but hopefully it doesn't negatively affect St. Jean come tournament time. After all we are talking about high school kids and making weight early in the season isn't always easy. Not to mention it was undesirably a two day weigh at Lowell.
I have Donovan over St Jean right now cause of Lowell. That could go either way.
On Brown...my eyes and my gut tell me hes #1. I honestly just looking for a reason to move him there (like a win against one of the aforementioned). His resume is great...just want him to "do something" in the public school setting before I push him up. I understand that sounds crazy...im not implying he hasn't done anything...just saying its hard to push wrestlers with in state, public school results out the way without an on the mat reason to do so.
Absolutely with St. Jean and Donovan that's the right move. Unless there is bumping of weights I believe we should see the Brown and Donovan match up this week. Also from what I heard from a very reliable source is that Rai hasn't been around for the last month almost. He was not at the Keene tournament.
