Lowell Holiday Day 1 Recap-QuarterFinals

With day 1 in the books there is a bit of a mixed bag for NH. This year will see a significant decrease in the number of NH quarterfinalists, 23 this year compared to 32 last year.

The round of 16 was particularly rough for NH wrestlers, especially in the lightweights.

Timberlane is the top scoring NH team after day 1 and is in the hunt for a team title, trailing Mount Anthony and leading Chelmsford. The team race likely comes down to these three based on the number of wrestlers each has in the Championship side of the day 2 brackets. Concord also managed a top 5 standing after day 1.

Action resumes tomorrow morning with the Championship Quarter-Finals beginning at 8:30am at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell.
